People are always surprised by how something as simple as curling their lashes can open up the eyes and change their look. It's also not a complicated beauty move to master. Here's my fool-proof guide to perfectly curled lashes.

Step 1

Look straight ahead with your eyes open. Insert your lashes into the curler and press down while keeping your head up.

Step 2

Hold for 30 seconds. And whatever you do — don't pump. This can cause extra stress on your lashes and lead to breakage and an uneven curl.

Step 3

Once you've let go, it's time to apply mascara. A curling formula will help keep your curl in place while defining your lashes, but it's not required. Use whatever mascara formula you prefer — volumizing, lengthening and curling all will give you the results you want.

Step 4

When your mascara is almost dry, take your finger and gently press your lashes in the direction of the curl. Hold for a few seconds to set the lashes. This gives you an extra boost.

Never use the curler after you apply your mascara, it will lead to breakage.
