With everyone from Hailey Bieber to Jennifer Lopez to Michelle Obama sporting her clean, minimal styles, there’s a good chance you’ve seen designer Jennifer Fisher’s jewelry before. She’s perfected the gold hoop and modernized the charm bracelet (and necklace!) since she started her line in 2005. We caught up with the designer and wellness junkie to hear more about her inspirations, routine and favorite summer recipe.
Your big break?
I made a necklace for Uma Thurman and we happened to deliver it the day she was shooting a cover for Glamour magazine. She ended up wearing the necklace for the cover shot! That was our first big celeb moment. It all snowballed after that. It put us on the map as a brand.
Currently working on...
We are in a fortunate situation where we are working on a really special project that will be launching in March 2020. We are also currently on the new collection for Fall 2019. Our summer 2019 collection will be launching on our site mid-May and I am super excited to show this new collection to our customers.
Where do you look for inspiration?
I am drawn to photography, architecture - basically anything with industrial, clean lines. When designing jewelry I think about what I want to wear and what I am in the mood to wear and that is where a lot of the design process begins. Things that we haven’t made before, things we haven’t seen before. I try to focus on making pieces that are clean, timeless and easy to wear.
Describe your personal style in 3 words:
Utilitarian, Clean, Minimal
One piece of jewelry you cannot live without:
My charm necklace that has represents my entire family. I take it with me everywhere. If it's not on me, it's in my bag.
Your five wardrobe must haves:
- I love Goop Glow and their collagen. I love it because they are easy vitamin supplements to add to water and they don’t taste horrible.
- Clé de Peau Beauté Concealer, it covers everything and has the best consistency.
- My Peloton Bike. As a working mom it is really hard to make it to a scheduled class. The Peloton allows me to work out at my leisure - on really busy days I can squeeze in a work out before bed. It is a great stress reliever for me.
- My Celine sunglasses that I turned into readers. If you can’t find what you like, make it.
- My white Nike Air Force Ones. There is something easy and uniform about them.
Wellness Beauty Philosophy:
Less is more.
What fuels you?
I love carbs, but I have Hashimotos, a thyroid disease so I limit my carb intake and am on a keto diet. I always eat three meals a day with snacks and I never starve myself. I love colonics. I go to Fluid Water Therapy to detox.
A charcuterie platter is my ultimate favorite thing to eat. Even though it may not be the healthiest, I do my best to follow a clean way of living so that I can indulge on certain occasions. I like eggs in the morning because I like to start my day with protein. I love to snack on unsalted nuts, mainly cashews. Right now I am really into Deng Coconut Chips and I mix them with the unsalted nuts and keep a bowl on my desk. Every morning I take Keratin, Vital Proteins Collagen, Percepta and Areds II.
What workout routine makes you feel strong:
Hot Yoga. I am a huge fan of hot yoga, but since I injured my elbow I have been sticking to the Peloton. I have been doing 45 minutes of cardio a day.
Trust your gut.
Best advice you ever received:
Be nice to people. My dad always said to be nice to people and it would always come back to you.
Best advice for budding designers and entrepreneur:
Work hard and learn how to handle rejection quickly. It is the hardest thing to learn and the easiest thing to keep you moving once you learn how to deal with it. Never take no for an answer, because for the one person that says no there will be ten people that say yes.
