Beauty School: Modern Smokey Eye

Adelina has one of those faces that can pull off just about any look— which is why I loved working with her. For this look, we channeled some of that Old Hollywood glamour and created a soft, modern smokey eye. Here’s how to get the look:
Face
The very first thing I did was make sure her skin was hydrated— I used Miracle Balm in Au Naturel all over the face and on the cheeks and Eye Cream under the eyes. Next, I used The Face Pencil to correct redness under her eyes and at the inner corner. You might need to layer shades here, start by correcting and then opt for a more yellow toned shade to conceal. On Adelina, I used two different Face Pencil shades under the eyes, shades 1 and 2.
To get the rest of her skin looking even, we blended shades 2 and 3 of the Face Pencil. You might need a darker color in one spot and something lighter in another. The easiest way to find the right shade is to apply it to your skin and see if it disappears. By blending a few shades together, you’ll get an even, dimensional look. I set everything using a yellow-toned powder (coming soon).
On her cheeks, I used a mix of pink and apricot-toned powered blushes (coming soon) and added Miracle Balm in Dusty Rose on top for that dewy glow.
Eyes
I filled in the brows and defined her arch using The Brow Pencil in Ash, our lightest shade. I added a little bit of The Best Eyeshadow in Ash to the brow as well, giving her a little more definition while keeping it natural. I brushed the brows at the end to remove any excess product.
To give her that modern smokey eye, I started by applying The Best Eyeshadow in Cream all over the lids, up to the brow bone. This is a great neutral shade to use as your base. Next, I applied The Best Eyeshadow in Ash across the lash line and added The Best Eyeshadow in Smokey Grey on top and in the crease. I lined the eyes using The Best Pencil in Black, keeping the line close to the lashes. On top of the line, I layered the Best Eyeshadow in Dark Brown, using the Eye Detail Brush. I didn’t add any liner or shadow to the lower lash line because I wanted this look to be clean. As always, I finished with a few coats of The Mascara.
Lips
On her lips I used a Face Pencil to take some of the color away because I didn’t want her lips to be too pink for this look. After that, I added Miracle Balm in Au Naturel on top for some sheen.
