The New Must-Visit Beach Hotels

Written by: Christina Valhouli

It is officially summer, and if you haven’t booked a beach getaway yet, it’s time to start packing- and planning. These new beach hotels are a good place to start. Whether you prefer the wild waters of the Atlantic or turquoise waters of the South Pacific, we have you covered. All of these hotels offer a stylish place to stay, delicious food and the most important factor- proximity to the beach.

Six Senses Fiji

To feel as if you have truly gotten away from it all, head to the new Six Sense Fiji, located on Malolo Island, in the Mamanuca Islands archipelago. Guests can spend their days swimming, diving or hiking. Take a yoga class at the Six Senses Spa or mix up your own scrub at the Alchemy Bar. There’s a big wellness component at the spa, and many treatments incorporate locally-inspired healing traditions.

Viceroy Los Cabos

The newly opened Viceroy Los Cabos will appeal to anyone who loves the beach and dramatic architecture. The resort is located along the Sea of Cortez, and its focal point is the Nido restaurant. It’s crafted from a series of latticed timber and looks like a delicate nest floating on the water. The menu includes several types of ceviche and sashimi as well as handcrafted pisco cocktails.

Gurney’s Newport Resort and Marina, Rhode Island

Pack your Jack Rogers sandals for a stylish beach getaway to Newport. Gurney’s is located on Goat Island, between Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay. This summer the hotel will host poolside pop ups from the likes of TopShop and The Daily Edited. Gurney’s has its own marina so feel free to dock your yacht outside. The hotel can also arrange a quick trip to its sister property on Montauk.

The Getaway, Carmel-by-the-Sea, California

This 34-room boutique hotel features fun, playful décor that fully embraces California beach lifestyle. The color palette is inspired by the sea and surrounding nature. Think white washed brick walls, rattan furniture and plenty of blues and grays. At night, relax around the terrace’s fire pit or just stay inside and be cozy- every room has a fireplace. Both the downtown and the beach are a short distance away.

Isla Palenque, Panama

There’s plenty of buzz around Panama these days, and one of the newest places to stay is Isla Palenque, now a part of the Cayuga Collection which focuses on sustainable and luxurious properties. Located in the Gulf of Chiriquí near Boca Chica, Isla Palenque is tucked on a private island resort with 400 acres of jungle and seven pristine beaches. Guests can stay in the main house or eight beachfront casitas, coming soon. Make time for yoga on the outdoor deck, and indulging in the on-site restaurant, which serves locally sourced food.

Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida

Fort Lauderdale is having a moment. Long known as a spring break hot spot, it’s growing up and attracting a more sophisticated crowd. The new Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach has all-suite accommodations. Unwind at the 20,000-square-foot Sky Deck which is home to a pool, cabanas and activities such as “dive-in” movies. The menus skew healthy too- order an ancient grain salad and treat yourself to a dragon fruit mojito.
